¿Existen los tratamientos alternativos para niños con TDAH?

Could Alternative Medicine For ADHD Be A Treatment Option Worth Considering

Certainly the biggest concern for most parents of ADHD children is finding the safest and most effective treatment method possible. One would think that once the initial diagnosis confirmed the presence of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder the path would be clear cut from that point on. Sadly, this is not the case.

There are truly as many different treatment options, including alternative medicine for ADHD, as there are symptoms. The primary symptoms are inattention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity followed by a long list of secondary symptoms including anticipation of failure, worry, boredom, loss of motivation, frustration, low self esteem, sleep disturbances, and hopelessness. There is also the concern of overlapping conditions such as OCD, bi-polar disorder, learning disorders, and oppositional defiant disorder. As you can see the list is long, leading to the possible implementation of multiple prescription medications, all of which have potential serious side effects.

This has brought many parents of ADHD children into a new world of treatment known as alternative medicine ADHD.

Whether you are talking about conventional treatment options such as the stimulants Ritalin or Adderall or alternative medicine for ADHD experts agree that the best way to treat this complex condition is through a multimodal approach. In other words, by implementing several different treatments that complement one another  you will be improving the chances for success. For one person the winning formula may include medication, diet, exercise, and behavior modification. For someone else it may include homeopathic alternative medicine for ADHD, talk therapy, and neurofeedback. Additionally, some therapies may be classified as short term or temporary fixes, while others tend to produce long lasting positive results.

All of the above treatment options have worked great for some and not so well for others. Thus, finding the right treatments and managing them takes some study, planning, organization, and perseverance. One might wonder who has the hardest job the ADHD child who has to cope with problematic symptoms on a daily basis or the parent who not only has to manage their child but investigate and make informed decisions on what type of treatment option to pursue. To make life easier, most professionals in the field of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder suggest finding a specialized medical professional to work hand in hand with you to determine and manage treatment. For instance, if alternative medicine for ADHD is your choice, then a naturopathic doctor or natural health specialist would be suggested. If diet modification is the avenue you feel will work best then a professional specializing in nutrition would be suggested.

For those struggling with ADHD finding an effective treatment option is a necessary first step. The most common method of conventional treatment are stimulants, such as Ritalin, Adderall and Cylert. While effective in the short run, all stimulant medications come with a number of serious label warnings. The risk of side effects, or perhaps lack of success with stimulants, has prompted many to investigate other options. A couple examples of this are behavior modification therapy and/or alternative medicine for ADHD. Alternative medicine for ADHD is a side effect free way to address such problematic symptoms as inattention, distractibility, impulsivity, erratic behavior and hyperactivity, and can be used both as a standalone treatment or as a compliment to other nonprescription alternatives.
